Palmer Home for Children provides a family and community to children in need regardless of race, gender, or background. Serving individual children and sibling groups, Palmer Home provides superior residential care for children while introducing the love of God through their service to each individual child. Children receive care through a residential model on Palmer Home for Children’s campus located in Columbus, Mississippi. Children on campus are placed in a home, typically with seven other Palmer Home children, and a caregiver couple, who provide the daily guidance and love the children need. Palmer Home staff use the Whole Child Initiative’s approach to caregiving. The initiative offers a comprehensive approach to working with children that recognizes and addresses the multi-dimensional aspects of their lives: physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual. Having invested in their overall well-being, their approach now includes a dedicated team that will devote their energy to teaching children in their care life skills as they navigate independence and transition to adulthood. The SEPC is excited to add this important charity to the other worthy causes it supports. Through our participation in their annual Radiothon fundraiser, we are able to donate matching funds to aid in their Ag Literacy Program.
